"Seasons change and so do we"
Thanksgiving is in a few days, the Christmas lights are up around St. Enoch's, a single green leaf is scarce on any tree, and, last night, Glasgow got it's first snow. Alissa noticed it first, as the glimmer of white flurries fell in front of bright street lights. "I can't believe it's snowing!" she said, but we were both amazed, watching the shift of the seasons in front of a bar on King Street.
It's a curious thing to watch change happen, like tiny gears in motion. Funny, how change occurs constantly, in every moment, but so many times we rely on obvious indicators to alert us, even if instinct forewarns. As my father said and as I so often reference, "There are two types of people in the world: the ones who make change and the ones who let change happen."
In 2008, I've been a proponent of making change. I have also, sad to say, been a victim of mindlessly letting change tick by. In both instances growth transpired but I can honestly say that the latter hurt more. However, pain is merely an indicator of growth, which one can swallow as a lesson or a blessing.

shannon i am so envious of you and so grateful that someone's out there living their damned life haha
sorry we didn't get to see each other, i was hoping you would be in town until next week...
but seriously, when i read your blog and see the places you've been, it lights a fire in my belly, a time clock, to do and try new things. i do agree that we must make change happen and i feel like i'm on the right path ( i just got in to tx state, am moving to a different apartment, one more home like) but is that enough to cure that desire from within?
anyway, thank you for being beautiful you.
