Conic Hill: On the Trail From Drymen to Balmaha

On the train from Partick to Balluc

I have a photo of my dad doing the exact same thing.

The train.

The main stretch in Balluc.

Alissa and Nick waiting for the bus to Drymen.

Shannon monkey-shining.

Holding Alissa like a baby.

Still waiting for the bus.

Sheep on the road between Drymen and Balmaha.

"Who farted?"

The long road to Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.

"What out for that lorry!"

I don't think this one needs an explanation.

We stopped in this forest to take some photos.

It reminded me of Sherwood Forest.

A walking stick I picked up along the way. Later deemed "the magic stick."

More moss-covered forest.

The tiniest pine combs ever!

A view of Loch Lomond from the trail to Conic Hill.

Conic Hill in the distance.

Another view of Loch Lomond.

Alissa counting rings on a stump.

...still counting.

The wind was really strong but, believe it or not, it got a lot stronger.

Sheep and Conic Hill.

A quiet stream.

Nick and Conic Hill.

"Alissa, stand there and let me take your picture."

On the side of Conic Hill.

Another view from Conic Hill.

Nick, battling the winds, almost at the top.

We made it! I conquered the mountain!!

The wind was blowing really hard.

Nick is zen on Conic Hill.

The view is spectacular.

But the wind, which Nick says was blowing at 50 mph, was atrocious!

Nick tried to make the three of us hot chocolate.
Despite the wind, it would've worked but the stove was malfunctioning. Bless his heart.
